PROGRAM NAME: Hospitality Futures
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Students must demonstrate English language proficiency by providing evidence of meeting one of the following:
- 3 years of full-time secondary education (Grades 8-12) or 2 years of full-time post-secondary education have been successfully completed in the English in a country where English is one of the principal languages. Completion of any Canadian Adult Graduation program is also accepted.
- Evidence of achievement in a recognized standardized language test/assessment at an overall level equivalent to IELTS 5.5 (general) or higher. Accepted equivalent tests include TOEFL (minimum overall score of 46), CELPIP (Listening 6, Speaking 6, Reading 5, and Writing 5), Doulingo (minimum overall score of 95), PTE (minimum overall score of 43), Cambridge B2 First exam [FCE] (minimum overall score of 160), LANGUAGECERT Academic (minimum overall score of 3.5), CAEL (minimum overall score of 40).
Admission requirements can not be waived by the institute or the student.
DURATION: 80 hours
ENROLLMENT PERIOD: 24 weeks
PROGRAM DELIVERY METHOD: Distance – Asynchronous
Asynchronous distance learning means students and instructors do not meet in ‘real time’. There is no live video portion of the program. Students in a program may move through assignments at their own pace, supported by online resources such as recorded lectures, reading material, assignments and discussion groups.

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
Students will explore careers in the Hospitality Industry with this foundation level program. Students will graduate with a broad knowledge of hotel and restaurant operations and a realistic sense of the industry as a whole. This program is designed to help graduates transition into entry level employment or more advanced studies.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
By the end of this program, students will be able to:
- Identify a range of employment opportunities in the Hospitality industry.
- Recognize industry standard practices and processes as they relate to various occupations.
- Demonstrate knowledge of major tools, equipment and materials used in hotels and restaurants.
- Construct an individualized resume and cover letter.
TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS
PC – Pentium III 600 MHz processor or faster, 256 MB RAM or greater (512 MB recommended), Windows XP/Vista/Win7 MAC– Intel x 86 based processor, 512 MB RAM or greater (1 GB recommended), Mac – OS-X 10.5 (Leopard) or 10.6 (Snow Leopard); Google Chrome Browser; Speakers or Headphones; Microphone; Camera or Smartphone to take digital photos; Reliable and unrestricted internet connection; comfortable using the internet.
*Much of the course content can be accessed via the Moodle App (iOS and Andriod), however students should have access to a laptop or desktop for the best learning experience.

Refunds for approved programs are granted as per the requirements of the Private Training Institutions Branch.

Completed means the student has received an evaluation of their performance for the specified percentage of hours of instruction. Only hours of instruction for which the student received an evaluation should be included in the calculation of a tuition refund. If a student completed a portion of a program for which they did not receive an evaluation, that portion should not be included in the calculation of the percentage of the program completed.
